CONCEPT SUMMARY

Snowboarding and freestyle skiing are currently the fastest growing sports in the US, with double digit growth rates over the past 5 years . The Ski Industry estimates that resorts in 2003 received over 76.5 million visits for an estimated $3.2 billion in revenue .

Resorts are typically open 7 or 8 months of the year when natural snow is present. Generally, resorts are located 2-3 hours away from the closest metro area. Because of weather dependency, resort guests never know what they are going to get at a resort, (snow conditions, weather conditions, location of obstacles and jumps, use of half pipe, etc.).

Arctic Summer will take advantage of the growing snowboarding and freestyle industry by offering an alternative to the weekend snail crawl up the mountain.
